In regards to the Mayor's race, many people have asked me where the candidates stand on the issues, but just what are "the issues"?
A few months back I started a list of questions for the candidates, and I also have the excellent information gathered from the community conversation event to add to those questions, but before I submit anything to the candidates I'd like to hear from you.

What are the mayoral candidates intentions regarding the appointed officials, such as the city attorney? What methods can be used to encourage "negligent" landlords within Holyoke, as opposed to out of state landlords, to upgrade their properties?
political waves.
It seems to me that nobody is picking issues, they are all giving general "visions" but in no way answering several questions asked about how they intend to get the job, or at least ways to try.
For examole, the landlord issue, the only way to help alleviate the problem is to have a landlord registry.
I mentioned this several months ago, and owner-occupied would be exempt.
All multi-family properties should be owner occupied, or have a locally registered caretaker, or property manager/ management company.
It would make it so much easier to have a responsible party to fix blight and/or code violations
What are the candidates plans to bring businesses to Holyoke and improve the downtown?
New to town... I'd also like to ask "Just Who Are the Candidates?" Where could I find a list of the candidates running for office?
Jesse, there is an article with fairly current info:

I think the deadline for turning papers in is this week sometime, so there should be an article coming out soon with names of those certified to run...

Thanks, Daphne!
What do they think downtown will/should look like in 15 years, and what would they do to get us there?
Do you think there needs to be better communication between the City and the citizens of Holyoke?
(the answer should be Yes, especially in an election year)
If yes, what is your strategy to improve communication between the City as a whole and its citizens?

What are the city's strongest attributes, and how specifically can/should they be leveraged in improving the city's weaknesses?
Thank you for the questions everyone. This was very helpful. If you have anything else you'd like to add, don't hesitate.
