People get a little carried away with displays of aerial patriotism down here on the 4th. After sundown you can stand at almost any intersection and be surrounded by fireworks shooting from blocks around. Here are few photos I took of the displays with Moonlight in the sky. Enjoy..

I have never photographed fireworks, yet that is. But you did a pretty good job. I always seem to be to immersed in having a good time to want to carry my camera out with me when I watch them. I saw two displays this weekend and I think haivng my camera would have detrailed me from having a great time. But I am happy to see someone I know managed to get some great images. Now, if we could only get fireworks in HDR...
Great shots. I don't remember every seeing the full moon out on the 4th in the sky right next to the fireworks but you took great pictures of it all. good work. hope that you enjoyed your 4th or was it on the 5th?
Thanks Jeff, I had fun, as always, with the challenge of photographing fireworks.
That's very kind Anonymous Person, these fireworks were of the illegal kind in the Flats of Holyoke on the night of the 4th.
On the night of the 4th, we sat in our living room as someone shot off fireworks in the road (sargeant st.) I have never been that close to fireworks or had such expensive fireworks THAT close to my house. I took some pictures, but was so caught off guard that they aren't great. Besides, pictures never do fireworks justice.
People spend a lot of money for only a few minutes out of the year.
