I was planning to have lunch today at Artisan's with Aaron Vega of Vega Yoga. Aaron emailed me in the morning to say, we need a different restaurant. artisan cafe closed. So we met at Gramp's instead where he told me that it wasn't closed for the day, it was out of business.

I love this picture I took of Gramp's today.

Hope to have more info on what happened to Artisan's soon.

That is such a shame! I loved that place. I am truly going to miss eating there.

That is a great photo of Gramp's! (Which is also for sale, is it not? That photo should be on the real estate listing...or, maybe you should get into taking awesome photos for real estate companies. I'm tired of seeing crappy grainy photos of buildings from the inside of the agent's car...totally gives the impression that they are either too lazy or too afraid to exit their vehicle).

Any idea what the rent is on the coffee shop at Open Sq? It is a shame that it is now closed--I tried going there on Saturday and again yesterday. I backtracked to inviting my friends over for coffee at my house instead.

Ummmm, I don't know anything about Gramp's being for sale, but that doesn't mean it's not.

Funny you mention real estate, I believe Jeff was doing just that last Summer, and a local Realtor just contacted me about advertising in my blog. Adding a story once a month about a home for sale would be a fun pro-Holyoke way to make some income from the blog.

I have no idea of the rent on Artisan's, but since John Aubin owns most of the equipment in there I am guessing they had a revenue sharing scheme, but I could be way off base.

Thanks for compliment on the photo!

There's already a "for rent" sign outside the cafe today :(

So sad it's gone - no good lunch place downtown again. So many people at open Square miss it alot already. Hopefully someone else will re-open the cafe.

It is my belief that an outstanding photo of a building would help increase the ability to sell it. Especially if people from out of the area want to see the building before coming out and getting into negotiations and seeing it for the first time.
