As I expected the Governor's town meeting didn't last long. Only one hour, and maybe about 15 questions were asked. None of the questions were very hard hitting.

The meeting was more of a political love in with the crowd cheering the governors answers.
This guy asked one the more hard hitting questions about why he could only get one veterans licenses plates, and not two.
The Governor's staff were all over this guy afterwards, promising to do anything they could to solve this vexing problem.
After the meeting people mobbed the governor trying to get their issues heard, or just have his Excellency's ear.
The political smoozing continued for some time after the meeting. It is unfortunate our state has become so one partied. With no really hard questions being asked, what's the incentive for our politicians to perform as promised?

thats why i said to Boycott the darn thing, I knew there was gonna be alot of ass kissing, and nothing is going to get done. Like I said before, this guy has balls to cut 50k from the merry go round, and then hold his meeting right next to it.
Kristen, Several hundred other people wanted to ask questions, and the guy only answered about 15. That's why he was mobbed afterwards. It took him 30 mins to walk 20 feet over to where TV cameras were for the interview.
Stephen, Half the people there were politicians, relatives of politicians, former politicians, or news people, or security. Much of the regular people had some special interest, organization, or non-profit. Everyday working stiffs were an extreme minority.

Thanks Tony, I just realized that I was standing right next to Mike Dobbs saying to myself, "where do I know him from?".
Yikes, was it only 7 or 8 questions asked? I estimated 15 since maybe I forgot half of them, but all I can remember is 8.

I like your blog and yes, there were few working stiffs there. Part of the problem was the lack of publicity. I was told about this over a week ago but was asked NOT to do an advance as the governor's office wanted to handle the press. Well, they did very little.
I asked Patrick how it felt to be across the canal from the Girls Inc. Teen Center that he cut $50,000 from and he got a little irked. I think he is tried of giving the explanation that the Bay State is heading to the economic toilet again, knowing full well people will be looking to him for answers.
Watch for casinos to come back!
